**Community Food Initiatives Announces Search for Executive Director**
[Athens, Ohio] — Community Food Initiatives (CFI), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving food security and promoting sustainable agriculture in the region, announces the resignation of Maribeth Saleem Tanner, effective August 31st, 2024.
Maribeth joined CFI as Executive Director in June of 2021, guiding the organization through significant growth and numerous successful projects, including the expansion of the Veggie Van and Sprouts programs, the development of new partnerships outside of Athens County, and a comprehensive strategic planning process. Under her steadfast leadership, CFI has expanded its reach and impact, fostering stronger community ties and addressing critical food access issues.
In a statement, Maribeth expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the organization, saying, “It has been an honor and a joy to serve as Executive Director of CFI for the past three years. I am deeply grateful to have been part of an amazing team and community working with passion and dedication every day to grow and share the harvest in Southeast Ohio. While I am moving on professionally, I look forward to staying connected with CFI’s mission as a volunteer and supporter, and seeing the organization continue to thrive.”
